OH the fun I had with this game!!!! I remember my friends dad bringing this home and he would be the games master (the referee) and my friend, me and a few others would play. This game got me into RPG which I still do now, but oh the imagination this game generates!! Fantastic game for a family to play!!! and those with artistic ability can paint the minitures!! and whats really good is that it NEVER ENDS as you can write your own adventures or expand upon it!!

Before Lord of the Rings trilogy

This game has alot of Lord of the Rings references from the magical elf, fighting dwarf, to magical wizard, and all against monsters that protect the various rooms from the hero's quest. Once you get into the game, the board like dungeon with many hallways suddenly becomes all too real, and when the monsters spring out, even as playing pieces, they become all too menacing. The timing of the game is another asset as the monsters seem to appear at just the right moment when the specific hero is searching the room for hidden treasure. And the hallways seem a bit narrow to get caught up in the long dark dingy corridors with many doors into many rooms. Great little game, and am so glad I never got rid of mine. Sits right with Jamanji board game bought about the same time. Playing pieces are small, decorative, and very suggestive as to what and who they are. Just follow the rules, and play the game!
Greatest boardgame to ever exist on planet Earth.

Heroquest will forever be a part of me. This is the most impressive boardgame to have existed. Screw D&D, screw all others. If you manage to grab a copy, possibly the expansion packs as well, then I hope you hold it to your chest as they lower your body into a grave.
Excellent Game

This was by far one of my favorite games growing up, and I would love to find a new one to share with my kids when they grow up. Its for older kids, the rules are sort of complicated at first, and it takes 3 people for a good game. I was always the player who set up the board and was the 'boss' of sorts, I dont remember what the title was in the game, but the other players move around the board and you control what goes on and control the bad guys. I remember having it set up all summer and playing for hours every day trying to get through all of the quests. Its a great game, I'm not surprised its so expensive either.
